Large miniature: Portrait of a lady with elaborately carved laurel frame in glass case.
1st half 19th c. Verso indistinctly old titled with place name Paris and younger inscribed "Massé".
Probably tempera/leg, mounted on cardboard, maple or lime, glass case with ebonized frame. Miniature 12.5 x 9.5 cm, box 31.5 x 25 cm.
In fine loupe painting quality painted portrait of young woman with tiara as well as miniature brooch. Wooden frame carved from one piece with subtle laurel branch. Restored small break at the edge of the painting, slightly trimmed, minimal paint abrasion at the edge. Carved frame added more recently, few signs of age/use to box.
