Sheet 35 (verso and recto) of the part "Tercia etas mundi" (3. Weltalter) with depiction of 8 sibyls as half-figures "De aliis Sibyllis" and verso with depiction of the Roman primordial kings Janus, Saturnus, Picus and Faunus; from Hartmann Schedel's famous World Chronicle in Latin - the illustrated account of world history from the beginning of the world to 1492/1493 published in Nuremberg in 1493. It was divided into 7 world ages according to the tradition of medieval chronicles. The 656-page work contains more than 1800 woodcuts from the Nuremberg workshop of Michael Wolgemut (1434 - 1519). Lower margin with back-taped tear, edges frayed.
German physician, humanist and historian; his main work is the so-called Schedelsche Weltchronik.
