Belly, landscape painter, orientalist, student of Francois Edouard Picot in Paris, since 1849 often in Barbizon. Traveled the Orient, Greece and Italy. 1853 Salon debut, 1862 Order of the Legion of Honor. Between his travels, alternated between Barbizon and Normandy, creating small-scale landscapes.
