Wood stuccoed, relief and punched, polychrome painted. 26 x 32.5 x 18 cm.
Quader-shaped cofanetto with roof-shaped hinged lid. Decorated on all sides and on the lid with stucco reliefs: On the long sides, scenes after Giotto from the Scrovegni (Arena) Chapel: Revival of Lazarus and Noli me tangere, respectively. On the front sides quatrefoils with rosettes; these are also central on the long sides of the lid; here with flanking persons (angels with Arma Christi?). The front sides of the lids each with a horse shield coat of arms: Double lily above oblique left bar. Traces of age/use, partly retouched.

Literature : A similar casket is in the Municipal Art Collections of Milan, where it is dated to the 15th century. Illustrated in the exhibition catalog Tra/E, Galleria Lorenzelli, Bergamo 1984, p. 271, fig. 348.
