Height: 21.5 cm.
All around fine colored painting with woodcut flowers and insects. Purple painted handle in relief at the base. Silver 13-lion mount with foot stand ring and ball pusher. Silver-plated engraved lid. Hallmarks: Fineness, indistinct city mark. Unglazed bottom, sword mark. Lid mounting soldered inside.
Flowers of this type have been copied from botanical works, which is why they are called "woodcut flowers", usually painted in conjunction with shadowy insects and butterflies. Woodcut flowers were largely replaced by "German flowers" around 1745 * Partner auction Bergmann.
