Extremely fine hand-embroidered altar cloth with historical dedication.

Cotton. 95 x 250 cm.
Sewn on handwritten note "Coming from the monastery in Kolberg, gift to Friederike von Gutzmer(?), née von Kundenreich" in Kolberg. Altar cloth sewn together from 3 weaves of 85 cm each with baroque-inspired ornament across the entire width and in 57 cm height. Various techniques: satin embroidery, petit point embroidery, knitted and crocheted inserts, partly backed with fabric. Torn off lengthwise outside the embroidery, strong signs of age / wear.
