Variably wearable pair of earrings or studs of the jour-et-nuit ("day and night") type. Historically, changeable pieces of jewelry of this type, in which suspensions could be variably attached or detached, were already made in the Baroque period in order to achieve increased variability of wearing options with a single piece of jewelry. The name "Jour et Nuit" refers to the possibility, as well as the convention in force at certain times, of wearing variable earrings of this type short during the day and long in the evening. The present pair consists of classic diamond stud earrings to which faceted ruby pendants can be attached.
