French portal clock with dove finial.
France. Late 19th century. Movement no. 2913.
Unmarked movement with half-hour strike on bell, dealer's mark "Barrard & Vignon [...] Paris". Does not run. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, minute ring and trefoil hands.
Gilt bronze, partly painted black. H 38.5 cm.
Neo-baroque case with rounded base and 2 baluster columns with urn finials, floral decoration and 3 partly floral framed oval medallions with female profile portraits, clock drum with dove finial. Signs of age and wear, small lacquer defects, clock face hairline cracked, bell mounting loose.
With sun pendulum and key.
