3-piece Napoléon III watch set. AD. Mougin, Paris.
France. Mid-19th century. Movement no. 1987.
Marked movement with half hour strike on bell. Not running, movement suspension loosened, in need of repair. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, minute ring and Louis XV hands. Marked "Leroy H[orlo]ger de la Marine Paris".
Gilt bronze, matt and polished, ivory-colored alabaster. Clock h 34 cm, side plate h 28.5 cm.
Urn-shaped pendulum with a three-dimensional flame and a putto holding an insect in the fire. With 2 matching, 2-flame candlesticks with rose branches, a faun boy making music and a faun girl making music. Each with a square base with partly attached neoclassical reliefs, on pressed urn feet. Dial with defects and loosened, edge defects and chipped alabaster.
With key and a pendulum with female head relief.
