Large Art Nouveau table lamp. Daum Fréres & Louis Majorelle, Nancy.
Height: 69 cm, ø 34.5 cm. 9.4 kg.
Patinated bronze base; with stylized floral decoration and 3-armed shade holder. Shade made of thick-walled clear frosted glass with powder meltings in violet and orange tones, three holes on the sides. Cut signature Daum Nancy with Lorraine cross. Old electrified, three light sources, one incandescent lamp present. Glass shade chipped at the holes.
* Majorelle, Louis, 1859 Toul - 1926 Nancy, cabinetmaker, painter and designer, son of Auguste, studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, took over his father's workshop in Nancy in 1879. 1901 co-founder and vice-president of the Ecole de Nancy, 1926 Alfred Lévy took over the management of the company, the Maison Majorelle closed in 1956.
