With the artist's monogram and weaving mark of the Scherrebek weaving school, fringes on the sides. Scherrebek, then Prussia, today Denmark (Skaerbaek). Scherrebek wall hangings were represented at all major national and international arts and crafts exhibitions, including the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. Partially restored.
* Weiland, draughtsman, designer, illustrator, Art Nouveau artist, studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Düsseldorf, provided designs for the Scherrebek School of Arts and Crafts, which was founded in 1896 and went bankrupt in 1903, he was the most productive artist of this production facility with 26 designs realized as tapestries, 1903-1914 resident in Aenis. All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €2,000 are checked against the Art Loss Register database.
