Schlitt, genre painter, watercolorist and illustrator. Studied at the Academy in Munich. Attended almost all major art exhibitions in Munich 1879-1917. He became famous for his fairy tale illustrations and especially for his fantasy paintings with forest gnomes and gnomes. Worked for the stoneware manufacturer Villeroy and Boch as a decor designer.
