Ikora metal, silver-plated top, black lacquered underside, rosewood. H 5 cm, Ø 25.5 cm.

Plain, shallow bowl on 3 ball feet . Minimal signs of age/use.

Wolfgang Tümpel was a Bauhaus designer and goldsmith. Studied at the Bauhaus Weimar under Itten, Klee, Slutzky, Schlemmer and Moholy-Nagy, then studied at Burg Giebichenstein Halle. Later lecturer at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts. A larger version of the offered design was exhibited in 2019 in the special exhibition for the Bauhaus anniversary "Bauhaus_Sachsen" in the Grassi Museum Leipzig.
