Large Viennese portal clock.
1st half 19th century
Unmarked movement with quarter hour strike on 2 gongs, pendulum with thread suspension. Striking and going train in working order, but not synchronized, in need of repair. Lateral thread winding for quarter hour repeater, repeater works. Glazed brass dial with Roman numerals, minute ring and spear hands.
Ebonized wood, partly carved and stucco-gilt, brass, white alabaster, floral mother-of-pearl applications. Approx. 59 x 38.5 x 14.5 cm. 5.2 kg.
Biedermeier column clock with profiled base and 2 alabaster columns, lyre carving and high entablature with 3 integrated fabric flower pictures. Signs of age and wear, some defects and missing parts.
With key and pendulum.
