With the artist's monogram and the weaving mark of the Scherrebek weaving school, fringes on the sides. Scherrebek, then Prussia, today Denmark (Skaerbaek). The art weaving school, founded in 1896, only existed for a short time and went bankrupt in 1903. Scherrebek wall hangings were represented at all major national and international arts and crafts exhibitions, including the 1900 World Exhibition in Paris. Partial flaws, minor restorations.
* Eckmann, painter, draughtsman, graphic artist, designer and applied artist, studied at the schools of applied arts in Hamburg and Nuremberg, from 1885 at the academy in Munich. 1897-1901 Professor at the School of Arts and Crafts in Berlin, set Art Nouveau standards in just one creative decade with astonishing productivity, works in numerous European museums. All lots with a limit (starting price) of at least €2,000 are checked against the Art Loss Register database.
